How we handle your data.
This notice covers visits to tao-nova.com, project enquiries and demo submissions.

Who is responsible
Tao Nova Records by Bernarding (sole proprietorship), Zürichstrasse 12, 8600 Dübendorf, Switzerland, is responsible for the personal data described here.
For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@tao-nova.com.
What we collect and why
Website visits: technical connection and server-log data, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and access times, are processed to deliver and protect the website.
Enquiries and demos: we process your name or artist name, email address, message, listening links and any files you choose to send so we can review your material, respond and discuss a project.
Optional details include the requested service, budget or offer, timing, project stage, how you found us and your chosen reply language. We use project details to understand your request and prepare a quote. Your optional discovery-source answer helps us understand which channels bring enquiries.
Our internal demo records may also include the submission time, file reference, review status, ratings, music categories and working notes.
Providing the required contact details is necessary for us to respond through the forms. Optional project details are voluntary. Please do not send identity documents, payment credentials or sensitive personal information.
How submissions are handled
Contact enquiries, including any attachments, and demos sent without an uploaded file are forwarded to our inbox through Resend. A link-only demo does not create a Google Drive upload.
Demo files are first saved on our server so interrupted transfers can be retried. Once the file is stored in Google Drive and its internal submission record is saved, the temporary server copy is removed. Delivery records let us retry processing and email notifications through Resend.
Submitting a demo permits us to review it and discuss your request. It does not transfer ownership of your music or grant permission for public release, promotional use or public playback. Any such use requires a separate agreement.
An enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not make decisions about you solely through automated processing.
Service providers and international processing
Infomaniak provides the website and backend server infrastructure in Switzerland. Tao Nova operates the website and its internal submissions database on that infrastructure.
Google Drive stores demo uploads. Resend delivers form enquiries, attachments and upload notifications. Gmail (Google) hosts our email inbox and processes incoming correspondence and our replies. These services receive the data needed for their respective roles.
Resend processes data primarily in the United States. Google may process data in the United States and other countries where it or its service providers operate. Data sent through these services can therefore be processed outside Switzerland. Contact privacy@tao-nova.com for information about the applicable processing arrangements and transfer safeguards.
Retention
For new submissions through this website, a daily cleanup moves demo files remaining in our demo inbox to Google Drive Trash after 90 days and deletes their website intake records. Files selected for a project and moved into a project folder are kept separately; their website intake records still expire. We retain enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, manage an ongoing business relationship or meet applicable legal obligations. When no justified purpose remains, we delete or anonymise the personal data. Google normally permanently deletes trashed items after a further 30 days. This is not immediate permanent deletion on day 90.
You can request deletion at privacy@tao-nova.com. Any applicable legal retention duties or need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims may limit deletion. Technical logs and provider backups have separate retention settings; this notice does not promise a fixed deletion period for them.
Applicable law and your rights
Swiss data protection law applies. Where the EU GDPR applies to our services, we process project enquiries to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to perform that contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Website security, organising enquiries and understanding their voluntarily reported source are based on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), subject to your rights. Consent is used where it is required for a separate purpose (Article 6(1)(a)); a form submission is not blanket consent to unrelated uses.
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact privacy@tao-nova.com to exercise your rights. You can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, where applicable, lodge a complaint with your competent EU supervisory authority.
Cookies and external links
The website does not use advertising trackers or visitor-analytics scripts. The language switch uses page URLs rather than a tracking cookie. Audio previews and website images are served from our own website.
Social and streaming links take you to the chosen provider only when you open them. That provider then processes data under its own privacy notice.
